After a career start as a member of the boy band "The Boyz" and a mega-successful phase as one half of the duo "Ich + Ich", Adel Tawil finally found himself in 2013 with his solo debut album "Lieder". As a solo artist, it has long been impossible to imagine German-language pop music without him.
"Lieder", "So schön anders", "Alles lebt" - with his music, Adel Tawil not only reaches high chart positions, but above all the hearts of thousands of fans. This may be because his songs convey just as much warmth as his voice. As a teenager, Adel Salah Mahmoud Eid El-Tawil, born in 1978, initially dreamed of a career as a rapper before he realised that it was rather his singing voice that won people over. When he is finally asked to join "The Boyz", the son of a Tunisian mother and an Egyptian father seizes the opportunity. The Jungz achieve fame, enter the Top 10 with "One Minute" and break a few girls' hearts before the interest dies down after about two years.
"Songs"
For a while, Adel Tawil doesn't know exactly what to do next with his music career. But then Annette Humpe enters his life. In 2003 the two of them first made a name for themselves as "Ich + Ich". With their self-titled debut and the follow-up albums "Vom selben Stern" and "Gute Reise", the duo celebrated great success before taking an indefinite break in 2010. Adel uses this time out to work on his own material. The result of this creative self-discovery appeared in 2013, bears the title "Lieder" and, with songs like "Aschenflug" (featuring Prinz Pi and Sido) and "Zuhause" (with Matisyahu), leaves no doubt that Adel Tawil can also exist as a solo artist.
The fact that 2017 saw the release of the second solo album "So schön anders" can be described without exaggeration as pure luck. Because when Adel Tawil jumps into the pool on holiday in Egypt in 2016 and hits his head, he breaks his neck vertebra - and miraculously escapes with his life. An experience that leaves a lasting mark on him and his music. Just like "Lieder", "So schön anders" is a very personal album. And this description also applies to "Alles lebt", the third Adel Tawil album. With a voice you want to listen to forever, Adel sings beautiful songs about love and life. "Tu m'appelles" with singer-songwriter Peachy is one of them - an earworm you won't soon get rid of.
There are "1. 000 good reasons" for an Adel Tawil concert
Even though Adel Tawil has established himself as a solo artist, he still has great fun collaborating with other artists, whether on his own tracks like "Eine Welt eine Heimat" with Youssou N'Dour and Mohamed Mounir or as a guest singer, for example on Sido's "Der Himmel soll warten" and "Zuhause ist die Welt noch in Ordnung". A number of guests can also be heard on "Live aus der Wuhlheide Berlin" from 2018, including SDP, KC Rebell and Summer Cem. Listening to the double album inevitably makes you want to experience Adel Tawil live. And that really is an experience. Numerous hits that invite you to sing along and a likeable, charismatic singer who is close to the audience - what more could you want?!
