Our program features songs such as "Yueliang Daibiao Wo Di Xin" (China), "Juramento" (Cuba), "S isch äbe ne Mönsch uf Ärde" (Switzerland), or "Cai elinden öteye" (Turkey), and many others. They all tell of the life experiences of people in the most diverse regions of the world—of life’s hardships, of love (whether fulfilled or unfulfilled), of suffering, and of joyful celebrations.
The songs are suggested by the choir’s singers and atmospherically arranged for us and our accompanying quintet by our conductor and artistic director, Bernhard Furchner. That’s what makes our concert so immediate and intense.
We look forward to you attending and enjoying our concert and letting yourself be carried away into many different worlds.
The Choir of Nations
The Choir of Nations is a mixed choir with singers from many nations, currently divided into six sister choirs in Bern, Lucerne, Zurich, Basel, Biel, and St. Gallen.
We believe that by making music together, we can better understand one another, regardless of our background, language, culture, or religion. We meet regularly and sing in the national language (German) as well as in the many different languages of our countries of origin.
Our goal is to share these songs with others in concert.
