The Stubete Gäng has created a new genre with its «Örbn Ländlr». Brothers Aurel and Moritz Hassler, together with their father Hans, uncle Claudio Hassler, Oliver Herzog and Simon Britschgi, mix traditional folk music with modern beats.
Folk music with a new twist
The group from the canton of Zug uses classic instruments such as the accordion, but combines them with elements of hip-hop and pop. Their lyrics are written in dialect and are characterised by humour and observations of everyday life. This mix makes them attractive for both traditional events and modern festivals.
Success through individuality
With hits such as «Göschene Airolo», Stubete Gäng has proven that Swiss folk music can appeal to the masses without denying its roots. The group regularly appears on major TV shows and tours successfully throughout German-speaking Switzerland.
