Event Information
Johannespassion Concert The Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne (EVL), together with the Capriccio Baroque Orchestra Basel—a professional ensemble specializing in early music and performing on period instruments—presents a unique interpretation of Bach’s Johannespassion, a truly dramatic masterpiece. This production will highlight the EVL’s distinctive qualities: a large ensemble that excels both in ensemble playing and in solo performances, composed of professional singers who are regularly engaged as soloists by other ensembles in Switzerland and abroad. The role of the Evangelist will be performed by Jörg Dürmüller, an internationally renowned artist who lends special brilliance to this performance, in which historical authenticity and artistic sensitivity come together.
