The queens of modern metal
Dutch singer Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain) and her band, The Obsession, are returning to the stage with new material and will be making a stop at Papiersaal Zurich on Wednesday, February 10, 2027. Special guest Melissa Bonny, known as the front woman of Ad Infinitum, will open the evening and provide a powerful introduction.
Having just returned from her biggest tour across Europe, where she played as special guest for Amaranthe & Epica, she is now announcing her first headline tour. After 16 years as the defining voice of Delain, Charlotte Wessels turned over a new leaf in 2020 and has been releasing music under her own name ever since. With her latest album The Obsession, she presents the next step in her artistic development. The two previous albums Tales From Six Feet Under Vol. I (2021) and Vol. II (2022), which were created in her own home studio during the pandemic, impressively demonstrated her ability to combine personal themes with diverse musical influences.
For The Obsession, Wessels has further deepened her creative vision and, together with her musical companions, created a more powerful, varied sound. Lush arrangements, melancholic soundscapes and haunting lyrics merge into an intense listening experience that unfolds its full effect live. Charlotte Wessels has also made a name for herself outside of her solo work - be it through collaborations with bands such as Epica or Kamelot or through her involvement in the Phantasma project.
The concert in the Papiersaal promises an atmospherically dense evening between hardness and emotion - a must for fans of modern, multi-faceted rock and metal sounds
