Dea Matrona emerged from the musical collaboration between Mollie McGinn and Orláith Forsythe. The two singers and multi-instrumentalists met in their early teens at an Irish-language singing competition and later began playing together on the streets of Belfast.
With a steadfast DIY attitude, the duo built up a fan base over the years, self-funded their first releases, and continued to develop their own sound—primarily through live performances.
