Enrico Brignano brings his new program live to Bern and Zurich

After the success of "I 7 Re di Roma", the artist returns to a more personal theatrical approach with a piece that interweaves satire and nos talgie and entertainingly depicts the paradoxes of our time. Following the success of "I 7 Re di Roma", the musical comedy that continues to be well received throughout Italy, Enrico Brignano is now back on stage as a one-man show with "Bello di mamma!".

At the center of "Bello di mamma!" (written by Brignano himself together with artists such as Graziano Cutrona, Manuela D'Angelo, Luciano Federico and Alessio Parenti) is based on a simple and powerful idea: in a rapidly changing world full of contradictions and constant demands, we all - sooner or later - feel the need to return to the original environment that gave us a sense of security as children. The starting point is the universal image of childhood: a mother's voice that allayed fears, a cup of hot chocolate, cartoons, a blanket that warmed the legs and heart. This "Bello di mamma" who protected or, if necessary, called for order.

From here, Brignano develops a comprehensive view of the present: a time in which alarming news, omnipresent technology and an accelerated pace of life coexist with a longing for a time when everything seemed clearer. Global challenges - from wars to artificial intelligence, from inclusion that sometimes divides to the challenges of ecological change - become both comic material and food for thought.

The real challenge, however, is to find an antidote: to restore emotional balance in the midst of chaos. And this is where Brignano's most authentic language comes into play: a laugh that can be mocking or benevolent, ironic or melancholy, but always sincere and capable of bringing order to today's chaos. "Bello di mamma!" is thus a return to the origins of the one-man show and at the same time a step forward in the actor's narrative art: a personal story that becomes collective and appeals to the audience through shared emotions, recognizable vulnerability and a humour that does not dispense with tenderness. In "Bello di mamma!", Brignano is also accompanied by an orchestra of ten musicians and two choristers.
