The Erstfeld Team—the Bahnhistorischer Verein am Gotthard—invites you to a special heritage train ride.
The historic adventure trip aboard the Ae 8/14 11801 on September 27, 2026, will depart from Erstfeld and follow a spectacular loop route through the Zurich Oberland and the Freiamt back to the Gotthard.
In comfortable first-class standard-class cars, passengers will enjoy a fascinating journey, the highlights of which include the transfer of the gigantic double-unit locomotive in Thalwil and the ride through the Zurich Oberland and the Freiamt.
On the Erstfeld–Arth-Goldau route, as well as on the return trip in the evening, the Re 6/6 11666 “Stein am Rhein” will support our train on the section equipped with cab signaling.
Take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to ride in the cab!
You’ll experience the desired section of the route right at the front of the train and enjoy the rest of the journey in one of the historic cars.
Crew cab rides are available on the Re 6/6 between Erstfeld and Arth-Goldau, as well as on the Ae 8/14 from Arth-Goldau via Thalwil–Rapperswil–Zurich Hauptbahnhof–Wohlen and back to Arth-Goldau. A personal day pass is included with the driver’s cab rides!
A limited number of discounted day passes are available for early bookers through July 10, 2026. So sign up now—it’s worth it!
