The successful French multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer FKJ returns with his new single "Soulmates" and simultaneously announces his third studio album "Tyber", which will be released in the fall, as well as an extensive headlining tour through Europe and Asia, with further dates to be announced in the coming months.
"Soulmates" is about embracing loneliness," says FKJ. "For me, solitude works really well, and I take time for myself. But my soulmates, the people in my life who are important to me, are very close to my heart. It's about finding the right balance."
As an artist whose work straddles timeless musicality and experimentation, FKJ has created a unique musical world that blurs the lines between jazz, soul, classical, hip-hop, funk, rock and electronic influences. As such, his music continues to appeal to a global audience drawn to both its technical sophistication and intimate atmosphere.
"Soulmates" offers a first glimpse of "Tyber" - a project that captures a period of personal and creative transformation following the release of his acclaimed album "V I N C E N T". Written and recorded on several continents, the album reflects years of exploring movement, solitude, collaboration and renewal. Sessions took place in London, Los Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico, with each location subtly shaping the album's sonic identity.
The result is FKJ at his most expansive and uninhibited. On "Tyber", groovy compositions line up alongside jazz-oriented instrumentals, sample-heavy experimentation and more direct songwriting moments, moving seamlessly through funk, alt-pop, R&B and psychedelic textures without ever losing cohesion. The album feels both deeply personal and globally influenced, spotlighting an artist documenting his evolution in real time.
The new single "Soulmates" epitomizes this spirit. Warm, engaging and rhythmically flowing, the track highlights FKJ's instinctive approach to composing while providing a natural introduction to the wider world of "Tyber". It's music rooted equally in technical musicality and emotional immediacy - a balance that has become a central part of its appeal.
The forthcoming album also features an extensive list of guest musicians, including Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane and Labrinth, further emphasizing the breadth of influences and perspectives that permeate the project.
Throughout his career, FKJ has earned widespread acclaim for redefining the boundaries of contemporary French electronic music. Often referred to as a pioneer of the New French House movement, he has developed a distinctive style based on live instrumentation, improvisation, looping and multi-layered production. His French heritage remains a defining thread throughout his work, even as his music continues to draw inspiration from cultures and communities around the world.
FKJ has also built a loyal international following outside of the studio, garnering over 2.5 million YouTube subscribers and becoming known for the immersive visual and musical experience of his live performances. His upcoming headlining tour across Europe and Asia marks the beginning of a new chapter, bringing the world of "Tyber" to audiences through the dynamic, free-flowing performances that have become synonymous with his name.
