FRAU LEHMANN is a quartet from Leipzig. Fiona Lehmann’s lyrics and delivery are the core and anchor of the songs, which—lyrically and mercilessly—catapult us out of the theater performance and onto the city streets, leaving us to drown in solitude at a wistful bar. Comparisons come to mind—singers, poets, seekers from all eras of literature, rock, and pop—and are thus once again fleeting. People end up saying “Element of Crime” and “Isolation Berlin” again, because “Dylan Thomas” and “Hildegard Knef” just don’t sound as hip.
