Lord of the Dance
Since 1996, hardly any other show has toured the world as successfully as "Lord of the Dance". What fascinates people so much about the largest Irish tap dance show is best experienced live at one of their rousing performances.
The premiere of the unique dance show with Irish roots will take place held at Dublin's Point Theater on 28 June 1996. Director and at the same time leading actor Michael Flatley fulfills a lifelong dream. Ronan Hardiman is composing the music for the dance show, which retells an ancient Irish legend.

The main element of the stage show of "Lord of the Dance" is the Irish tap dance "Irish Dance", which includes the formations "Irish Hey", "Rinnce Fada" (Long Dance) and "Trenchmore". . The dancers only move their legs and create impressive rhythm sequences with their tap shoes, while the upper body and arms remain motionless. It is customary for dancers to be accompanied by harp, violin or bagpipes.
The traditional dance, which dates back to the twelfth century AD, is mentioned in “Lord of the Dance” is presented in ever new, partly acrobatic choreographies and becomes all the more rousing the more members of the ensemble dance synchronously. The show still inspires a worldwide audience and the "Lord of the Dance" tickets regularly break sales records.
Currently, three ensembles ensure that the Irish Dance art finds its audience. On the one hand, the dancers take part in the always popular "Lord of the Dance" tours. On the other hand, there is even a permanent ensemble in the Hotel "Venetian" in Las Vegas.
The makers behind the stage
The mastermind behind "Lord of the Dance” by dancer Michael Flatley. He was born in Chicago in 1958 to Irish parents. At the age of 17, the exceptional talent won the world championship in Irish dance. In 1994, the dancer was asked as a producer to create a small intermission filler at the "Eurovision Song Contest". This is how the show "Riverdance" is created, which in turn lays the foundation for "Lord of the Dance".
As the choreographer, producer and director of the stage show, Flatley always works with Ronan Hardman together. The musician from Dublin composed the music for "Lord of the Dance" as well as for the successful formats "Feet of Flames" and "Celtic Tiger", which are also by Michael Flatley.
With Tickets for "Lord of the Dance" give viewers a firework of thrilling emotions: Celtic sounds with elfin female chants alternate with almost combative tap dance interludes and acrobatics. Timeless and universal, the production inspires young and old alike.
