In addition to catchy song titles such as "Hyper Hyper" or "How Much Is The Fish?", the North German electro band Scooter has been known for almost 30 years for their charismatic sound and the screaming vocals of frontman HP Baxxter. With 23 top ten hits and over 30 million records sold in 50 countries, Scooter is Germany's most successful techno band.
From the remix band The Loop, which among other things released remixes for Marky Mark, the band Scooter was formed in 1994. In addition to frontman Hans Peter Geerdes aka HP Baxxter, Hendrik Stedler and Sören Bühler, better known by their stage names Rick J. Jordan and Ferris Bueller, are among the founding members.
From now on Scooter will produce electronic music, which is assigned to the styles techno, happy hardcore, EDM, hardstyle, eurodance and jumpstyle - and that like on an assembly line.
First successes: The scooter sound hits
The first single "Vallée De Larmes" made it to number 8 in the German dance charts in 1994. The second single "Hyper Hyper" hits like a bomb: It reached the top 5 in Europe. "Hyper Hyper" is still one of the band's best-known tracks to this day.
It follows other Top 5 singles, including "Back In The UK", which also shoots into the British charts for the first time. Scooter's first four studio albums land in the top 25 of the German album charts and are also successful in Switzerland, Austria and England.
To the album "Age Of Love" from 1997 follows the first indoor tour of Scooters of the same name. Scooter's shows are legendary: When Baxxter shouts "Hyper Hyper" into the microphone, the fans can't be stopped. The sweaty sound with sometimes hard, sometimes groovy electrobeats and the simple lyrics invite you to dance and sing along - no wonder that Scooter tickets are still in great demand.
Scooter tirelessly write their success story
With the exception of HP Baxxter, who was born in East Frisia, the entire line-up of Scooter changes over time. The band will produce a new album every one to two years up until 2017 – a total of 19 studio albums since it was founded. The album "Jumping All Over The World" reached number 1 in the UK album charts. There is a platinum award for 300,000 albums sold in England.
With the twentieth album, Scooter are taking more time: Also due to the corona pandemic, it will take four years until 2021 " God Save The Rave” appears. The record reached number 4 in Germany. A total of ten Scooter albums made it into the top 10 of the German album charts:

At the zenith of their success after almost 30 years of band history, the "God Save The Rave” tour by the East Frisians. Sweaty techno beats, disco slogans roared by HP Baxxter, a firework of hits paired with a crazy party atmosphere: At scooter shows, the crowd celebrates like hell.
According to HP Baxxter, the band's recipe for success is there in continuity. The “Rolling Stones of Techno” remain steadfastly loyal to stomping techno with guaranteed catchy tunes and lots of loud shouting. The newer song titles like "Rave Teacher" and "Never Stop The Show" as well as lyrics like "Which Light Switch Is Which?" are in no way inferior to the old hits.
