Urban Priol
Urban Priol is one of the best-known German-speaking cabaret artists. With a sharp tongue and a brilliant mind, Urban Priol bubbles over with grandiose punch lines. The cabaret artist with his shaggy stormy hair prefers to talk about political events. His best-known stage show, called "Tilt", is a satirical annual review that Priol has been performing every December since 2002.
Urban Priol was born on May 14, 1961 in Aschaffenburg. After graduating from high school in 1980, he begins his military service, which he breaks off after completing his basic training. According to Priol, the reason for this is the “stupid regulations” on duty. Instead, he does his community service with the Malteser.
Although Urban Priol is already gaining his first stage experience, he enrolls at the University of Würzburg to study to become a teacher. Ultimately, however, his passion for cabaret triumphed: shortly before his exams, he decided not to teach English, Russian and history, but to become a cabaret artist.
Urban Priol on the show stage in Germany will be successful, predicts his first award, the "Passau Executioner's Ax". In 1986 he received the well-known cabaret prize for young talent. In 1998 he founded the "Kabarett im Hofgarten" in Aschaffenburg and ran it until 2003.
Urban Priol made the leap onto television

About his brilliant stories about madness of life forever, Urban Priol writes his first book: "Hirn ist aus" will be published in 2009 by Karl Blessing Verlag. "A small survival advisor for all situations in life", writes the "Welt" about Priol's comments on "cruises, train journeys, educational issues, world politics, party politics and all the rest".
