CLASSIC? What does it mean?
Following a ballerina who literally escapes from her music box to discover a whole new world for herself. To find herself. Like a doll, the symbol of a discipline where every movement is imposed and meticulously planned, the ballerina flees the very thing that built her. She discovers herself through a multitude of encounters. By crossing new spaces, she encounters new worlds, discovers other ways of dancing and other ways of existing on stage.
Step by step, how does she break away from the constraints of traditional ballet to find her own path - a dance all her own?
A new impulse springs from within. An impulse from the heart.
A ballet that's not quite so classical. With no Prince Charming, no set path, no imposed code. A quest for self, a ballet-bifurcation. It's not about reproducing an ideal, but about questioning what it really means to dance. With others, with ourselves. It's an invitation to see ballet from a new angle, to try to break out of the box, the codes, and leave room for the unexpected and for laughter.
