Dark suit combined with white sneakers is the trademark of Canadian Brass. Acoustically, they stand for the highest virtuosity, creative joy of playing and subtle humor. This mixture has earned the ensemble around founding member Chuck Daellenbach a worldwide fan base for over 50 years and more than 5000 concerts, making it one of the most famous brass ensembles in the world. Despite their almost museum-like status, Canadian Brass are one thing above all: lively, loud and captivating. The quintet, which was founded in Toronto, has constantly renewed itself over the decades, including the line-up, in order to always be at its best in its international concert activities between Carnegie Hall and Sesame Street. But two things have never changed: It still sounds absolutely fantastic, and the tuba is still played by Chuck Daellenbach. At the World Band Festival, the quintet will present a revamped program that includes musical gems from Bach or Barber to the "Carmen Suite" by Georges Bizet, staged by Canadian Brass, pop songs by Coldplay and jazz standards
