YEHEZKEL YERUSHALMI, violin
Yehezkel Yerushalmi was born in Israel, where he studied with Ram Shevelov and later perfected his studies with some of the most important violinists of our time, including Menuhin, Stern and Szering. He has performed as a soloist in diverse international locations including the U.S., Japan, Russia, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, playing with renowned orchestras and under the guidance of major conductors including Mehta, Giulini, Maazel, Ozawa, Sinopoli, Prêtre, Muti and Bychkov.
Yehezkel Yerusalmi has worked as first violinist in many orchestras, including the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestra di San Paolo. Since 1985 he has held the position of first violin at the invitation of the conductor of the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Zubin Mehta.
In addition to his extensive experience as a first violinist, he has devoted himself to chamber music with passion, creating a vast repertoire and performing in numerous concerts and recitals.
Yehezkel Yerushalmi is one of the founders of the Estate Regina Festival of Montecatini Terme.
