Brexit, the British decision on 23 June to leave the EU, makes Massimo Rocchi's new stage program highly topical: in "EUä", the cabaret artist explains the advantages and pitfalls of the EU to the Swiss.
Grüezi Mr. Rocchi, when was the last time you were annoyed that you didn't explain the EU to the British?
I'm a comedian and I live it up on stage. It's not up to me to explain the EU to the British. I have to admit that I was surprised at the result.
What was the last EU joke you made?
The Brexit leaders reacted like Commander Francesco Schettino while the ship was sinking. All I can say to that is: grumpy.
What was the last thing you were really happy about?
The goals scored by Xherdan Shaqiri and Leonardo Bonucci at the 2016 European Championship. Pure emotion. And that's exactly why I love the game with the round leather.
Where was the last time you danced, and to what music?
On a beautiful Italian beach to Cuban music by Cándido Fabré.
What was the last thing that really amazed you?
The word "brain hiccup" by Mehmet Scholl. The German language is a fantastic toy.
What is the last thing you would change in Switzerland?
For God's sake, don't change anything in the confederation! How else could I get inspired and gather ideas for my work?
What do you think is the very last thing?
There is no end to the imagination of Homo sapiens. For example, it took him hundreds of thousands of years to become Erectus and now he walks around the world with his head bent over his smartphone.
