Basel Tattoo 2025 focuses on Scottish classics and international diversity

21/05/2025

From 11 to 19 July, the Basel Tattoo 2025 will present a program at Kasernenhof Basel that focuses entirely on the greatest Scottish hits.

For the first time, the show will combine all the classics such as "Amazing Grace", "Highland Cathedral" and "Scotland the Brave", interpreted by 200 bagpipers and accompanied by the Flings and Things Highland Dancers with innovative choreography. The musical spectrum is complemented by the Top Secret Drum Corps, which returns after a three-year break with new tricks and acrobatics.

Top international formations

The international highlights include the Bands of His Majesty's Royal Marines from Great Britain and the United States Air Force Band, who are performing in Basel for the first time. The Swiss Armed Forces Central Band will represent Switzerland as the national musical team, while the US Air Force Honor Guard will thrill the audience with impressive drill interludes. The Jordanian Armed Forces Band will also be represented for the first time with a combination of bagpipe formation and drill team, bringing a touch of exoticism from the Middle East to the arena.

The Basel Tattoo sees itself as a meeting place for the international music and show scene and focuses on high quality and diversity. In addition to the main shows, the Basel Tattoo Parade with around 4,500 participants takes place on July 12, as well as the traditional Children's Day on July 19, where children can try out instruments and take their first dance steps.

Around 1000 take part

The event is under the patronage of the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport and is supported by the City of Basel. With around 1,000 participants from twenty formations and eleven performances, the Basel Tattoo is one of the largest events of its kind in the world.
