Eminem, Madonna, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Céline Dion, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Adele - when are they coming back to Switzerland?

20/05/2026 written by Christoph Soltmannowski

Some stars come to Switzerland every two years, others haven't been here for decades. Which of these big names will be visiting us again soon? Nothing is confirmed, but we have checked the facts.

Madonna: Not on a Swiss stage for 18 years

Madonna holds the record for the longest absence from Switzerland. Her last performance in Switzerland was on August 30, 2008 at the Dübendorf military airfield - in front of around 70,000 fans as part of the "Sticky & Sweet" tour. Her "Celebration Tour" in 2023/24, which ran from London to Mexico City and ended with a big show in Rio de Janeiro, also avoided Switzerland. A return is currently not in sight; Madonna is concentrating on other projects and large-scale touring does not seem to be an issue at the moment. Probability: very low.

Adele does not feel obliged

Adele played her only Swiss concerts to date in May 2016 at the Hallenstadion in Zurich. After her Las Vegas residency and exclusive open-air shows in Europe, she has repeatedly indicated in interviews that her "tank" is pretty empty for the time being. She has practically ruled out a new world tour in the short term, even if individual special shows remain a possibility. Probability: low.

Taylor Swift: Maybe back with us as early as 2027/28?

Taylor Swift is no longer a classic Switzerland refusenik. She played two sold-out "Eras Tour" evenings at the Letzigrund on July 9 and 10, 2024. These were her first ever concerts in Switzerland. Zurich has thus established itself as a strong tour stop in the Swift cosmos; should she go on another major stadium tour with a new album, another stop here is at least realistic. Probability for 2027/28: not unrealistic.

Céline Dion: only in Paris for the time being - but several times

The most emotionally charged case is Céline Dion. Her last regular concert in German-speaking Switzerland dates back to 2017 (Stade de Suisse Bern), in French-speaking Switzerland even to 2008. The planned Hallenstadion appearances in 2020 and 2024 were cancelled due to the pandemic and illness after she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome. For 2026, she has announced a limited series of concerts in Paris: in one arena, in one place, over several weeks. This residency format is obviously calculated for health reasons: no tour routing, no constant changes of location. For a classic Swiss stadium show, the signal is rather: still too early. Probability in the short term: low; cautiously open in the long term from 2027/28.

Bruce Springsteen - perhaps soon?

Bruce Springsteen, on the other hand, is not one of the holdouts. The Boss played with the E Street Band at the Letzigrund in Zurich on June 13, 2023. No new tour with a stop in Switzerland has been officially announced at present. However, if Springsteen is planning another album and an accompanying stadium tour, another trip to Zurich would be very conceivable due to the strong demand. Probability in the medium term: not unrealistic.

Lady Gaga: Would be a surprise

Lady Gaga has not performed in Switzerland since November 15, 2010 (Monster Ball Tour, Hallenstadion). The Joanne concert planned for 2017 in Zurich was canceled due to her fibromyalgia illness. Since then, there has been no classic world tour with a Swiss stop, but mainly selective shows, residencies and film or fashion projects. A new, major tour has not yet been announced. Probability of a next Swiss show: Low, but with Gaga there is always a surprise window open.

Shakira: 11 days in Madrid - but no concert in Switzerland

Shakira last performed at the Hallenstadion on June 22, 2018 - a rescheduled El Dorado concert due to vocal cord problems. Her current "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour" (2025/26) is the most successful Latin tour of all time with 3.3 million tickets, but only includes an eleven-day Madrid residency in Europe in September/October 2026 - no Swiss stop. Probability of a return soon: low.

Rihanna: Not unlikely

Rihanna last appeared on a Swiss stage in 2016 with the "Anti World Tour" in Dübendorf. Since then, her activities have shifted strongly towards her fashion and beauty empire. New music and tour plans have been a long time coming. Nothing concrete has been officially confirmed to date. Should she actually go on tour with a new album or an "Anti" anniversary project, Zurich would be a plausible stop as an established tour location in Europe. Probability: medium. Perhaps the most exciting possible surprise of the next few years.

Eminem: Not any time soon

Eminem was last seen at Openair Frauenfeld on July 6, 2018. Despite his new music, the rapper has kept a very low profile with live appearances; major tours have been a long time coming. There are currently no confirmed shows in Europe or even Switzerland. Probability: very low.
