Kings Elliot continues her emotional journey

24/03/2025 written by Christoph Soltmannowski

With her current single "Starcrossed", Kings Elliot gives a foretaste of what her fans can expect this year. This summer, the globally successful musician from Schwyz will be back on the road live - on October 7, 2025, she will be playing at the Plaza in Zurich.

The international music press rejoiced, even the US industry magazine "Billboard" praised the 30-year-old's songs. In her melodious and vulnerable songs, the blue-haired Schwyz native also addresses her fears and even had herself filmed having a panic attack for a music video. Her career has already taken her to big stages: she has played as support for Imagine Dragons and Macklemore, toured North America with Stephen Sanchez and opened for Lana Del Rey in Hyde Park. Milky Chance, Lewis Capaldi and Reese Witherspoon are among her fans.

The song was created in 2 hours

"Starcrossed" is a theatrical ballad about a doomed love affair. The work combines Kings Elliot's distinctive, raspy voice with a retro sound reminiscent of the 1950s. The bittersweet lyrics paint a vivid picture of longing and parting, a subject that touches the artist deeply. "'Starcrossed' is about a love that didn't have a chance to unfold," she explains. "It's the last moments with someone you won't see again - I wanted to capture that."

Together with well-known songwriter Emily Warren, with whom Kings Elliot has worked before, and musicians Max Wolfgang and Adam Yaron, she wrote the track in less than two hours. She later refined it with her longtime partner Halfrhymes. "It was like a therapy session," she says of the writing session. The influences of 50s music in particular, which have always fascinated her, characterize 'Starcrossed' - a sound that she wants to bring to full fruition live on stage.
