Muse are bringing the universe to the Hallenstadion—twice

15/06/2026 written by Christoph Soltmannowski

With “Nightshift Superstar,” Muse released the next single from their upcoming album “The Wow! Signal” last week. Now there’s more good news for fans of the British rock band: In the fall of 2026, Muse will embark on a major arena tour across Europe to promote the album.

There are bands that play concerts. And there are bands that stage events. Muse belong to the second category, and have done so for over three decades. Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme will return to arena stages at the end of 2026 with their “The Wow! Signal" European tour. Zurich is on the itinerary for two nights.

Muse is one of the few bands that not only master the balancing act between musical ambition and mass appeal, but have made it their true trademark. Since their formation in 1994, Bellamy, Howard, and Wolstenholme have sold more than 30 million records worldwide. Alternative rock meets electronic music; progressive elements meet stadium-sized power.

A radio signal from space as inspiration

On June 26, 2026, “The Wow! Signal," the band’s tenth studio album, will be released on Warner Records. The title is inspired by one of the most famous unsolved mysteries in the history of science: a 72-second radio signal discovered by astronomers in 1977, the origin of which remains unknown to this day.

Thematically, the album revolves around extraterrestrial communication, fears of technology, and the search for direction in an increasingly complex world. These are themes that have always fascinated Muse and now form the framework for what may be their most ambitious work to date.

The single “Be With You” followed in March. It was unveiled with a spectacular broadcast from space that caused an international sensation. Before and since then, Bellamy and the band have gradually unfolded the album’s musical universe with “Cryogen,” “Hexagons,” “Unravelling,” and most recently “Nightshift Superstar.”

For Swiss fans, two concert nights at the Hallenstadion in Zurich are on the calendar: Monday, December 7, and Tuesday, December 8, 2026. So there are two chances to experience the new album live for the first time. In a venue that Muse has already rocked to its foundations on multiple occasions.
