30/04/2026 written by Christoph Soltmannowski

From July 3 to 18, 2026, the Montreux Jazz Festival returns to the Auditorium Stravinski. The 60th edition will feature 67 artists from 22 countries. RAYE will open on July 3 for the third year in a row - with a stage show spanning six decades of festival history.

These are some of the highlights:

Sting

(Saturday, July 4) This is Sting's ninth appearance in Montreux. He plays in a power trio format with Dominic Miller on guitar and Chris Mass on drums. He also plays the songs from his latest album, "The Bridge".

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

(Sunday, July 5) Nick Cave is back on stage in Montreux for the first time since 2018. Back then, he filled the Stravinski to capacity. Wild God from 2024 is the Bad Seeds' latest album. A lighter work than many before.

PinkPantheress

(Monday, July 6) PinkPantheress performs in Montreux for the first time in Switzerland. The 25-year-old Londoner produced her first tracks alone on GarageBand. In 2026, she won the award for Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards. She was the first woman and youngest person to win in this category.

Moby

(Wednesday, July 15) Moby performs in Montreux for the first time. His 1999 album Play sold twelve million copies; he produced and remixed tracks for David Bowie, Public Enemy and Daft Punk. He presents his new album Future Quiet as a live experience with meditative passages and immersive visuals.

Van Morrison & James Taylor

(Saturday, July 18) Van Morrison has not missed an anniversary edition of the festival since his first appearance in 1996. He shares the closing of the 60th festival with James Taylor, who signed his first record deal with Apple Records in 1968. This was after Paul McCartney and George Harrison had invited him to London.

Tyla performs on July 8, The Isley Brothers and The Roots (their first studio album in over a decade: "End Game") on July 11, Deep Purple on July 13 and Lewis Capaldi on July 14.

Montreux Jazz Lab

The jazz evenings on July 16 and 17 are a chapter of their own. On July 16, Marcus Miller will bring together the original line-up from his live album We Want Miles! to play Miles Davis' repertoire on the 100th anniversary of his birth. He will be preceded by Billy Cobham, the drumming pioneer of the jazz fusion genre. On July 17, Charles Lloyd, who played at the very first edition of the festival, will be celebrating 60 years of Montreux. Gregory Porter, two-time Grammy winner in the jazz vocal category, will also be there. Charlotte Cardin, named Global Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2025, will perform on July 14. Agnes Obel, whose chamber music-influenced songs have found their way into series such as "True Detective" and "The Last of Us", will perform on July 10. Angus & Julia Stone play Montreux for the third time on July 4.
