Eighties pop legend Kim Wilde returns for Christmas 2024 with a "Wilde Winter Acoustic Session". She will perform a selection of her popular tracks from the Wilde Winter Songbook album, combined with well-known Christmas songs and her greatest hits, all in an intimate acoustic setting.
Kim, 63, will be joined on stage by her brother Ricky, niece Scarlett and guitarist Neil. They will all provide a wonderful evening of Christmas cheer and give the audience a unique opportunity to hear these songs in their most original form.
Kim Wilde, the British pop singer with the distinctive blonde mane, has undergone a remarkable evolution in her 40-year career. As the daughter of rock'n'roll singer Marty Wilde, she was practically born into music.
Kim Wilde landed her first big hit "Kids in America" in 1981 when she was just 20 years old. The song, composed by her brother Ricky and written by her father, catapulted Kim Wilde to the top of the charts and made her a pop star overnight. Further hits such as "Cambodia" and "You Keep Me Hangin' On" followed. This made her one of the most successful singers of the eighties.
After her success in the 80s and early 90s, Kim Wilde surprised her fans with an unusual career change. She turned to landscape gardening, hosted gardening programs on British television and wrote newspaper columns on the subject. Despite her success as a gardener, music always remained an important part of Kim Wilde's life. She made a name for herself in 2002 when she re-recorded Nena's song "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" as a duet. Since 2006, she has been devoting more time to her music career and has been able to build on her earlier successes - especially with her live concerts.
