The US rapper and actor Snoop Dogg is dropping his 22nd studio album with «10 Til' Midnight». With his latest work, the West Coast legend oscillates between a classic West Coast sound and modern production.
Snoop Dogg is one of the most famous rappers ever. When West Coast rap really took off in the early 1990s, the rapper from Long Beach was one of the most important young men on the Death Row Records label. Rap legend Tupac was also a member of the label. It was founded in 1992 by Suge Knight and none other than Dr. Dre. Still under the name Snoop Doggy Dogg, Snoop Dogg released his debut album «Doggystyle» in 1993.
Some 33 years and 21 albums later, the then promising young man is an icon in the rap universe. With his 22nd studio album «10 Til' Midnight», the US rapper and actor shows that he has lost none of his West Coast sound. The latest work, which contains 14 tracks, is also rooted in G-Funk and is full of funk, «laid-back» beats, deep basses and synthesizer melodies.
The new album is also the fourth since the takeover of Death Row Records. Snoop Dogg acquired the label in spring 2022 and is now the owner of the label that helped him make his breakthrough at the beginning of his career.
Whether Snoop Dogg will be stopping off in Switzerland again soon is still written in the stars. Unfortunately, there are no signs of this happening. However, if it does happen in the future, fans will not miss any announcements with the ticket alarm. In the meantime, the new album will certainly help pass the time.
