Ringo Starr, the legendary Beatles drummer, released his new country album "Look Up" on January 10, 2025. Even after 50 years, this work shows his soft spot for country music and yet promises a new creation, enriched with innovative genre elements.
Produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett, "Look Up" comprises eleven tracks recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles. Starr's love of country music is reflected in this album, supported by artists such as Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Lucius, Larkin Poe and Alison Krauss.
The first single "Time On My Hands" was released in October 2024 and shows Starr's deep connection to the country sound. Another highlight is the song "Thankful", a duet with Alison Krauss, which underlines the emotional depth of the album.
Starr's enthusiasm for country music goes back to the 1960s, when he interpreted songs such as "Act Naturally" with the Beatles. His second solo album "Beaucoups of Blues" from 1970 was also dedicated to the country genre. With "Look Up", he continues this tradition and combines classic country elements with modern influences.
Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have announced a tour of the United States, which will begin in June 2025 and include cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Charlotte. Will a European tour follow?
