On June 28, 2025, Zurich's Hallenstadion will be transformed into a melting pot of fiery rhythms and electrifying guitar riffs when Carlos Santana, the master of Latin rock, takes to the concert stage.
Carlos Santana, born in 1947 in the pulsating heart of Mexico, began his musical odyssey as a four-year-old violin student of his father. But when the waves of rock'n'roll swept the world, the young Carlos swapped his bow for six strings. He honed his guitar skills in the smoky clubs of Tijuana before laying the foundations for his career in San Francisco. He founded the band Santana.
Santana's breakthrough came at the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969. In a moment of pure magic, Santana's hypnotic guitar sounds merged with the rhythmic beating of slats through the audience during "Soul Sacrifice". The 45-minute performance not only went down in music history, but also catapulted Santana's debut album into the top 5 of the US charts and ushered in a new era of rock.
The following years were characterized by commercial success and artistic development. Early hits such as "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va" became classics. However, as with many rock bands, Santana was not spared turbulence. Line-up changes and personal challenges shaped the band's history, but Carlos Santana always remained the beating heart of the group.
In 1999, the world experienced a phenomenal comeback. With "Supernatural", Santana ignited a musical firework display that stormed the charts and inspired a new generation of fans. "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" became global anthems, which Santana crowned with a record number of Grammy Awards.
After a series of performances in Las Vegas, Santana is now coming to Switzerland with his international tour. On June 28, 2025, the Hallenstadion will become an arena for his Latin rock ecstasy. Fans can secure their tickets from December 13, 2024 at 10.00 am. If you don't want to miss the pre-sale start for the concert, you should register for the ticket alarm and receive an e-mail reminder.
