The British band is coming to Zurich on October 24, 2025. Fans can look forward to an evening of timeless hits.
Simply Red was founded in 1984. The band's name came about by chance: when frontman Mick Hucknall was asked about the name of his band during contract negotiations, he replied "Simply 'Red'". "Red" had been his nickname since his school days because of his red hair. His counterpart took this literally and so "Simply Red" became the official band name.
Simply Red's line-up has changed several times since the 1990s, with Mick Hucknall remaining the only constant as frontman and singer. After a farewell tour in 2010, they reunited five years later and released their last album "Time" in 2023.
Simply Red accompanied many people in the 1980s and 1990s with their mix of soul and pop. Their songs were the soundtrack for first crushes, heartbreak and the search for one's own identity. Even today, hits such as "If You Don't Know Me by Now" or "Stars" remind us of our own youth. But songs such as "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)" and "Fairground" also topped the Swiss charts for weeks.
Simply Red will start their world tour in Austria this coming December. After South America, Ireland and Great Britain, the band will also be coming to Switzerland.
