From April 7 to 11, 2026, Zermatt will transform its hotels, clubs and mountain venues into a network of acoustic stages against the backdrop of the Matterhorn. The festival is aimed at an audience that appreciates live music in manageable settings and wants to experience concerts consciously.
For 2026, the organizers have put together a line-up of established names and carefully curated singer-songwriter acts. With Placebo, Herbert Grönemeyer and Tom Odell, there are several headliners on stage who fill large halls, but who will perform here in a reduced, focused setting. Emeli Sandé, Rea Garvey and the Norwegian Kings of Convenience bring different varieties of soul, pop and indie to Zermatt and underline the stylistic aspirations of the festival. The program is complemented by acts such as Starsailor, Nick Mulvey and Mighty Oaks as well as numerous newcomers and insider tips; a total of over 130 concerts are planned on 17 stages in the village and on the mountain.
Zermatt Unplugged is characterized by the combination of ski area, mountain panorama and small concert settings. During the day, guests roam the slopes or hike along winter trails, while in the evening they move to clubs, hotel bars, tents or mountain huts, where the concerts often take place in close contact between the audience and artists. Many venues can only be reached on foot or by cable car, which gives the festival a more structured feel and sets it apart from the classic open-air experience on a single site.
Around the main tent, the Taste Village with regional specialties and modern cuisine provides an independent gastronomic offering. Additional acts perform there and on the smaller stages in the village, providing live music throughout the day and forming the transition to the main evening shows. The Unplugged Pass bundles these side stages and makes it possible to spontaneously discover new artists instead of just going to fixed headliner shows. After-parties extend the program into the night and offer space for DJ sets, jam sessions and encounters between musicians and the audience.
Tickets are available for individual concerts as well as in the form of packages that combine several shows. This allows guests to put together their stay in a modular way according to their budget and interests - from individual concert evenings to several days with skiing, mountain stages and a night program.
Since 2007, Zermatt Unplugged has developed from a niche project to a fixed date in the Swiss festival calendar and today appeals to an international audience looking for a combination of alpine surroundings, acoustic focus and high production quality.
