The Basel Film Music Festival is entering the next round: on August 22 and 23, 2025, the Stadtcasino Basel will once again be dedicated to film music. With Oscar winner Xavier Koller and the 21st Century Orchestra, the second edition will feature two Swiss premieres.
The main attraction is «Schellen-Ursli Live»: the 21st Century Orchestra plays live to the film, while director Xavier Koller, composer Martin Tillman and the ensemble of actors celebrate a reunion. Ten years after its cinema release, the Grisons fairy tale returns to the big screen.
The Swiss Gospel Singers present the greatest choral moments in film history. From Sister Act to The Lion King and other classics of the genre.
The festival is supported by Arthur Cohn, six-time Oscar winner from Basel, and Golden Globe winner Brian Cox. Their goal: to celebrate film music as a central element of cinema. The successful premiere took place in 2022.
