On August 25, 2024, the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, will give a teaching in Zurich's Hallenstadion. The message of the 89-year-old Buddhist monk, who advocates universal human values such as compassion and religious harmony, is of inestimable importance, especially in today's world.
The 14th Dalai Lama, whose real name is Tenzin Gyatso, is not only the spiritual leader of Tibet, but also a global icon of peace and humanity. His upcoming appearance in Zurich will, as in 2018, be a mixture of spiritual teaching and universal message that inspires across cultural and religious boundaries.
In addition to countless Tibetans, people from other cultures will also take part in the event. The Dalai Lama sees it as his duty to promote human values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline and to make people aware of their importance. He describes these qualities as ethical, universal values. In addition, the Buddhist monk advocates religious harmony and understanding between the world's great religious traditions. For him, it is important that all religions respect each other and uphold the values of their respective traditions.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be visiting Switzerland on August 25 from 9 to 10 a.m. to give a teaching in Tibetan at the Hallenstadion in Zurich. This will be followed by the program of the Tibetan community until 2 pm.
