Bond's musical pirates bring catchy tunes with them

24/10/2016 written by Mohan Mani
The new Andrew Bond fairytale musical "Jackie MacSabre and the Party Pirates" thrives on varied music. We've already seen it.

Ikundu - that's the name of the place where the greatest treasure of all time is said to be located. But first, three lousy pirates, their cat and a bored princess have to face four tests from a giant octopus.

The latest Andrew Bond musical "Jackie MacSabre and the Party Pirates" is suitable for children, even educational in places. And in the end, the message of eternal friendship triumphs.

Catchy duet "You and me"

However, the story would be nothing without Mr. Bond's once again very catchy children's songs. While his last fairy tale musical production "Tom Träumer" focused entirely on Irish sounds, this time he conjures up a mix of musical styles on stage. Individual songs such as the duet "Du und ich" even have catchy tune potential.

Meet and greet after the show

The involvement of the audience is also skillful, with the front rows of seats reserved exclusively for the kids. Whether shouting along, a funny shark interlude or a perfectly orchestrated autograph session with the actors after the performance (see picture), the toddlers have a lot of fun. So even the long performance time of two hours (including a 20-minute interval) is gladly tolerated, and there are many who still haven't had enough, so the parents buy the accompanying musical CD at the end so that the little ones can enjoy the live show again at home, at least acoustically. The Ticketcorner reporter's four-year-old daughter showed us how it's done.
