The famous ensemble from the Big Apple is stopping off in Geneva. Their performance is a tribute to David Bowie.
The name Complexions Contemporary Ballet is as euphonious as its history is exciting. Complexions, also known as Skin Color or Complexion, was founded in New York in 1994 by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson. It was no coincidence that the two knew each other from their time with the long-established, no less renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Homage to David Bowie
The two artists wanted to create something new and push boundaries, so they founded America's first completely multicultural ballet company. Rhoden has choreographed over 90 shows for Complexions. Elements of classical and contemporary dance characterize his style. Rhoden was once again ahead of his time when he planned his latest project "Star Dust" and dedicated it to his idol David Bowie. Although the icon died on January 10, 2016, Ziggy Stardust lives on on stage thanks to Complexions.
