Deep Purple are the most influential representatives of hard rock and founders of heavy metal. And this despite the fact that the roots of their music can actually be found in classical music and jazz, due to the training of the individual band members. In addition to hard rock and metal, Deep Purple also played with classical orchestras. For example, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The rock band has gone through many changes, but has consisted of the same five musicians since 2003: Ian Gillan (vocals), Steve Morse (guitar), Don Airey (keyboards), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums).
The new album
Their worldwide hit "Smoke on the Water" was inducted into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" and brought the band huge success. The best-selling song probably contains the most famous guitar riff alongside "Satisfaction" and "TNT", which simply everyone knows. The songs on the new album "inFinite" have the typical 70s sound - but now with a contemporary twist. Even without Jon Lord, the Hammond god who died in 2012, the new album fulfills all the fans' wishes.
Verdict
The harmonious melodies transport even non-hard rock fans to another world. The album testifies to the outstanding skills of producer Bob Erzin and demonstrates the group's teamwork and cohesion. With "inFinite", the hard rock guys remain true to their sound, but do not fall prey to nostalgia. Deep Purple's "inFinite" will remain with us into infinity.
