This year, Switzerland's best-known musician abroad is celebrating his 25th anniversary on stage. To mark the occasion, he is releasing "Greatest Hits", a collection of his greatest songs. He has sold over 15 million records, and DJ Bobo won the "Outstanding Achievement Award" at this year's Swiss Music Awards for his contribution to 25 years of music history. Now he is taking a trip back in time with his new album.
The album
The album consists of three parts: The first CD features 21 of DJ Bobo's greatest hits, including "Somebody Dance With Me", "Freedom" and "Chihuahua". On the second CD, DJ Bobo shows a different side: he recorded 15 tracks with the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra & Chorus at a joint live concert in Lucerne's KKL. The orchestral sound presents the well-known and unmistakably simple rhythms and melodies in a new guise and brings fresh momentum to the hits. The second CD also contains three completely new songs: "Opposites Attract", "Love&Devotion" and "Shake It Easy" do full justice to the typical Bobo sound and remain true to his style.
Verdict
The compilation album with the best songs is a "must have" for every DJ Bobo fan. However, there are no completely new sounds to be heard from the Swiss musician on the album, DJ Bobo remains true to his style.
