Calm but powerful: Caroline Alves' songs are a mix of Massive Attack and Erykah Badu with a big dash of Amy Winehouse.
The Brazilian with the striking curls and casual look lives in Biel, studies music in Bern and has been composing her own songs since the age of 16. "My music is about breaking away from something or someone and freeing yourself," explains Caroline. She performs both with a band and alone with her guitar. She does this on the streets of Biel, in bars or at festivals. The soul-funk singer is now releasing her first EP, "Unbound".
