Alexander Frei (27), Crimer's real name, actually wanted to take off under the stage name "Batman", but the rights holders of the comic hero put a spanner in the works for the man from eastern Switzerland.
Frei eventually released the first track "Brotherlove" under the name "Crimer" and was showered with compliments for the dark eighties song reminiscent of Depeche Mode. Even before his first EP "Preach" was released, he was booked for this year's major festivals. So Swiss retro music can be this modern!
