The Irish Folk Festival has been bringing Irish music and dance culture to mainland Europe for 44 years. This year, for example, the young folk band Cúig.
The quintet won the band battle "All-Ireland Fleadh" with their music inspired by Galician, Irish and American sounds and were thus able to finance and record their debut album "New Landscapes". Since then, they have been celebrated by folk fans as one of the most up-and-coming Irish bands.
The program of the Irish Folk Festival is wide-ranging. In addition to the young talents of Cúig, the tap dance group The Fusion Fighters, the band Socks In The Frying Pan and singer-songwriter Emma Langford will be performing at the Irish Folk Festival.
Quiet sounds: Emma Langford.
The latter is characterized by her calm pop sounds mixed with alt-folk. The singer from southwest Ireland will release her debut album "Quiant Giant" in October.
