She is the most beautiful melancholic and Italy's most successful singing export since Adriano Celentano: Laura Pausini (42) in a cliché check.
Dolce far niente: No way! The 42-year-old singer is Italy's most popular cantante for good reason. Laura Pausini is a busy bee: twelve studio albums since her breakthrough with the song "La Solitudine" ("Solitude") in 1993, six compilations and live albums and nine tours. She also sits on TV show juries from Italy to Spain and Mexico and sometimes records duets with superstars such as Kylie Minogue (48). The effort pays off: since her beginnings as a little girl from Ravenna, performing in bars with her pianist father, Pausini has amassed an estimated fortune of over 20 million francs. A huge achievement, especially as she never quite managed to conquer the English-speaking world. But the Latinos love her: She records songs in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan and French.
Pizza & pasta: Of course! Despite her streamlined figure, the singer eats completely clichéd Italian food. The proof: she has been shooting commercials for pasta manufacturer Barilla for years. And she revealed her favorite pizza recipe to the gossip magazine "Gala". With bacon, buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and anchovies.
La Moda: And how! The Italians are proverbially well-dressed - and Pausini is no exception. She was given the accolade in 2014 by Italian "Vogue". It dedicated an exclusive style diary to her and countless blogs meticulously tracked what the singer wore for which occasion.
Mafia: Unfortunately, yes. Pausini also suffers from the criminal structures in her home country: before a concert in Lecce on August 2, 2012, mafiosi shot one of her workers setting up the stage. Devastated, Pausini had to cancel the concert - and is fighting indirectly against the mafia by supporting charities - as well as international charity organizations. There are 36 of them in total.
Mamma mia: Ma sicuro! In 2013, Pausini revealed to Vanity Fair magazine that she had been deeply sad for years despite her amazing career: she had tried unsuccessfully for seven years to get pregnant. Pausini describes the fact that it worked out in 2012 as "a miracle". Daughter Paola was born in February 2013. The little girl is currently traveling the world for the third time with her dad, guitarist Paolo Carta (53), and her powerful-voiced mom.
