If you were forced to give her musical style a name, it would be 80s synthpop with a twist: the short-cropped blonde hair and trendy style radiate this modernity.
Ana Scent skillfully mixes acoustics with electronic sounds. Her songs yearn for freedom. The synthesizer and the resounding drums feel ethereal. Ana Scent is Swiss, but has lived in London and New York. Her desire to be inspired by new experiences is important to her. "The negative things in my music often inspire me more than the positive ones," she says. The lyrics are profound and often reflect on complex socio-political issues, such as in the song "Strangers", which is about the refugee crisis. In addition, she always remains true to herself and her lyrics: the Swiss singer spent several days alone in a hut in the mountains to write the song "Running Away".
For the spontaneous: Ana Scent will be performing at the St. Gallen Culture Festival this Thursday evening, accompanied as always by Niklaus Gehring on drums.
