The tennis year has started brilliantly for Switzerland. With his 18th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and his Masters victories in Indian Wells and Miami, Roger Federer is the high-flyer of the season. Fans can already look forward to Roger Federer's home appearance. It will still be six months before we see the maestro play for the title at the Swiss Indoors in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel (October 21-29). But it's worth getting your tickets now. In addition to the superstar, local hero and seven-time Basel champion Federer (ATP 4), our second major winner Stan Wawrinka (ATP 3), Rafael Nadal (ATP 5) and Nick Kyrgios (ATP 16) have also been confirmed.
It's the absolute crème de la crème, a star line-up at the Swiss Indoors. Federer, Nadal and Wawrinka currently occupy the numbers 1 to 3 spots in the ATP annual rankings and have a total of 35 Grand Slam titles between them. Last year, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal had to cancel their appearances in Basel due to injuries. Perhaps a dream final between the two will work out again in 2017? Just like in 2015, the duel between Federer and Nadal is one of the great classics of recent decades. They have faced each other 37 times, with the Spaniard winning 23 times. Very important for the fans: they already know when the stars will make their first appearance at the Swiss Indoors, with Nadal playing his opening match at the "Grand Opening" on Monday, October 23. Federer will follow on Tuesday and Wawrinka on Wednesday.
