Four nations, one goal: these are the SWISS Ice Hockey Games 2025

From 11 to 14 December 2025, four European ice hockey powerhouses will once again face off at the SWISS Ice Hockey Games. As part of the Euro Hockey Tour 2025/26, Sweden, Finland, Czechia and host nation Switzerland will battle it out in Zurich. The tournament week will provide an opportunity to assess the situation on the road to the Olympic Games and the 2026 World Championships in Switzerland.

Europe's ice hockey elite meet in Switzerland

In December, Switzerland will once again become the hub of top European ice hockey. The SWISS Ice Hockey Games 2025, part of the Euro Hockey Tour, will bring together four of the continent's strongest national teams. The games will be played in Zurich's Swiss Life Arena. For fans, this means five games at eye level, no duel without explosiveness.

Tradition and rivalry on the ice: Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic

The Euro Hockey Tour is more than just a preparatory tournament. There has been intense sporting competition between the participating nations for decades. Sweden and Finland are Scandinavian rivals with a history of World Cup competition. Czechia is the technically strong ice hockey nation from the East. And Switzerland, as vice world champion, has long been more than just a host. Since participating in the Euro Hockey Tour 2023, the home team has been using the ice to compete with the best.

Five games, clear signals

The tournament kicks off on Thursday, December 11, 2025, when Sweden faces Switzerland. Two games will follow on Saturday: Finland vs. Sweden and Switzerland vs. Czechia. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with Czechia vs. Sweden and Switzerland vs. Finland. Five games in three days – a compact format with a lot of significance. Whoever performs well here will send a signal in the direction of the Olympics and the 2026 IIHF World Championship in Zurich and Fribourg.
