The appearance of ducks in the show is a first. Trainer Jochen Träger Krenzola has already wowed audiences with his feathered partners on the TV show "Das Supertalent". The Winterthur riding stable Isliker brings a farmyard atmosphere to the Hallenstadion. And the Ostsee-Quadrille, with its black Friesians and white Iberians, demonstrates classical horsemanship at the highest level. "In the current show, we want to show that it doesn't always have to be exotic, but that local animals, from the farm next door so to speak, are also great performers," says Co-President Oliver Höner, whose show "Tierisch gut" (Beastly Good) brings each day of the show to a festive close.
Six instead of four competitions
However, the many show acts should not distract from the main focus of the show jumping competition. For example, show jumpers can now collect world ranking points in six instead of four competitions at the World Cup tournament.
Steve Guerdat, 2012 Olympic champion in London, will be competing as the reigning World Cup winner. And Pius Schwizer, winner of the Mercedes-Benz Classic 2016, which is part of the Longines FEI World Cup, and Martin Fuchs, the tournament's most successful rider, are only too keen to defend their titles.
