The Opus world hit "Live Is Life" is set to inspire the handball players: The song by Austrian band Opus will be the official song of the WOMEN'S EHF EURO 2024. The Women's European Championship will take place from November 28 to December 15 in Austria, Switzerland and Hungary.
The song "Live Is Life", composed by Opus guitarist Ewald Pfleger, was released 40 years ago in November 1984. In Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Spain and Canada, the catchy tune rose to number 1 in no time at all, and went gold and platinum in numerous other countries. To this day, "Live Is Life" is still played on radio stations around the world, and we often hear it at sporting events.
A specially adapted version of the song will be produced for the WOMENS's EHF EURO 2024. In addition, the men from Opus will be joined for the song by the Schick Sisters, consisting of the three sisters Katharina, Christine and Veronika.
Song creator Ewald Pfleger says: "We hope that the song will inspire fans and players alike at the European Women's Handball Championship in November and December and that we can play our part in ensuring that this European Championship is remembered forever."
