Starting today (Wednesday, July 2), the 16 best women's football teams from Europe will compete for the European football crown in eight Swiss stadiums. We'll find out who takes home the coveted trophy on July 27.
It's finally starting! The UEFA Women's Euro 2025 will take place in Switzerland for the first time from July 2 to 27. The 16 national teams will play for the European football crown in eight cities across Switzerland (Basel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, St.Gallen, Lucerne, Sion and Thun).
The Swiss national team will play its opening match tonight (kick-off: July 2 at 9 p.m.) against Norway at St. Jakob Park in Basel. A Group A match will take place in the Arena Thun before the official opening match: Iceland will face Finland at 6pm. Two group matches (at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.) will be played each day over the following days until Sunday, July 13.
The teams are divided into four groups of four nations. Each team will therefore play three matches in the group phase. Whoever finishes in 1st or 2nd place in their group qualifies for the quarter-finals (July 16-19). The two semi-finals will then take place on Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23, followed by the grand final on July 27 at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.
