City of the Sun (US)
The European Return Tour 2026
CINEMATIC GUITARS DRAWING FROM GLOBAL SOUNDS
Although City of the Sun is based in New York, their music transcends geographical boundaries. The band blends influences from indie rock, Latin folk, blues, and world music into a sound that brings stories, memories, and entire landscapes to life.
Founded by guitarist John Pita and later joined by drummer Zach Para, bassist Matt Fasano, and guitarist Marco Bolfelli, City of the Sun creates music that feels both intimate and cinematic. Since their 2016 debut *To The Sun and All the Cities in Between*, their 2020 self-titled album, and 2022’s *Segunda Alma*, the band has built a loyal fan base worldwide.
Their compositions carry echoes of desert winds, city nights, Mediterranean summers, as well as loss and change. This multi-layered soundscape has already taken City of the Sun from London to Paris to Athens, where audiences listen to their instrumental pieces with such attentiveness that it feels as though every note were sung lyrics.
With their latest album, *Under the Moon*, the band takes their sound through a variety of moods: from the surf vibe of “Angeles” to the spaghetti western feel of “Bajo la Luna” to the desert rock of “Ciudad del Sol.” Latin and African rhythms, disco-funk, and new wave also find their place in this musical world. What City of the Sun creates is more than just instrumental music. It is a language of its own.
