The brothers Bernd and Karl-Heinz Ulrich may undoubtedly join the ranks of the most successful German-language artists. With his folksy hit songs, the likeable duo lands successes again and again in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
At the time of the foundation, the Amigos count a total of four band members: the brothers Bernd and Karl-Heinz Ulrich as well as Rudi Lang and Günther Zimmer. The quartet initially enriches various city and village festivals - the Amigos initially tour mainly through their home Villingen in Central Hesse and its surroundings.
The Amigos play themselves into the hearts of fans
After the first recorded CD of the Amigos does not bring the expected success, the two brothers focus on live performances. Their strong stage presence helps the two-man combo to an ever-growing audience, which is thrilled by the music and charisma of the brothers.
In 2000, Daniela Alfinito - the daughter of Bernd Ulrich - joins the band. She makes the band complete with her gentle voice. Shortly thereafter, the CD recordings, which are recorded in the Amigos' own recording studio, also finally reach their well-deserved success.
The breakthrough in "Achims Hitparade"
Slager fans, who had not heard of the Amigos until 2006, become aware of the band at the latest during the popular musician competition "Achims Hitparade". With the award of "Musikantenkönig" the success of the Amigos is unstoppable. Echo awards, gold and platinum records and the famous "Crown of folk music" follow.
With their album "Der helle Wahnsinn", the Amigos secure a place in the series of best-selling albums in Germany in 2007. On the occasion of their 50th band anniversary, they receive special recognition: Deutsche Post dedicates their own stamp to them. Then as now, the brothers prove that they are willing to work hard for their success and to inspire their fans again and again with new Amigos shows.
In 2019, they once again secure first place in the German album charts with the album "Babylon" - they manage the same in the following years. In Austria and Switzerland, the Amigos also reliably sing their way to the top of the charts. With their songs about friendship and love the duo tempts not only die-hard Schlager fans to buy tickets for Amigos performances.
The most successful studio albums of the Amigos
Since their first record success, it goes with the Amigos steadily uphill. Hardly a year goes by in which an album does not land in the front ranks of the charts. Among the most successful releases since the founding of the band include the following:
- "Der helle Wahnsinn"
- "Sehnsucht, die wie Feuer brennt"
- "Do you know what you are for me? "
- "My heaven on earth"
- "Until the end of time"
- "Young at heart"
- "Summer dreams"
- "Santiago Blue"
- "Like fireworks"
- "Magic land"
- "110 Karat"
- "Babylon"
- "A thousand dreams"
- "Freedom"
All these and many other titles are responsible for the fact that Die Amigos in Germany as well as in Austria and Switzerland are still quite rightly counted among the absolute stars of the popular schlager.
