Not every boy band member who aspires to a solo career actually manages to successfully emancipate himself from the old role and the image that goes with it. Harry Styles, however, has made this transition with flying colours. His very first single, "Sign of the Times", shot to the top of the UK charts in 2017. Since then, the stylish Harry has been wowing audiences with creative pop numbers of the ilk "Watermelon Sugar", "Adore You" and "As It Was", as well as albums like "Harry's House", which dominated the charts in 2022, and not just in his native Britain.
From One Direction to solo career
Harry Edward Styles saw the light of day on 1 February 1994 in Redditch, England. After the separation of his parents, he grows up in a village called Holmes Chapel. Already interested in music as a child, he took part in the casting show "The X Factor" in 2010 - and subsequently achieved international fame as the youngest member of the boy band One Direction. The quintet, which in addition to Harry Styles also includes Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik (until 2015), released a series of very successful albums, won numerous awards and made the hearts of countless girls beat faster.
Since 2017, Harry Styles has managed to do all this without the help of his boys. He didn't even have to wait long for success - as soon as the first solo single "Sign of the Times" and the simply self-titled debut album were on the market, it was clear: Harry Styles solo, that works wonderfully. In the UK as well as in Germany and the USA. That the success is not only short-lived is shown in 2019, when album number two, "Fine Line", is released. The track "Watermelon Sugar" on the album even won a Grammy in the category "Best Solo Pop Performance".
Welcome to "Harry's House"
Harry Styles has long since proven to everyone that he is a musician and songwriter in his own right - and one who is constantly developing his art, as the 2022 album "Harry's House" demonstrates.
But the Brit's outstanding talent is not limited to music alone. As an actor, he can be seen in Christopher Nolan's war film "Dunkirk" (2017) and in "Don't Worry Darling" (2022) by Olivia Wilde.
And then there is the fact that Harry lives up to his name and regularly demonstrates a sure knack for equally extravagant and outrageously good-looking styles. Prizes like the British Style Award have to be earned. Fans, music journalists, fashion magazines - everyone loves Harry Styles. No wonder!
