Hazel Brugger has long been known far beyond Switzerland's borders and is one of the most successful comedians in the German-speaking world. Born in the United States and now a Swiss resident, she captivates her audience with a unique blend of razor-sharp observation, dry humour and disarming honesty.
From poetry slam to the big stage
She started her career on poetry slam stages, where she won the Swiss championship title in 2013. It quickly became clear that her talent needed more space. With her unmistakable poker face and quick wit, she took television by storm. As a field reporter for ZDF's heute-show, she achieved cult status by drawing politicians and passers-by out of their shells with seemingly naive but tough questions.
In formats such as «Die Anstalt», «Nuhr im Ersten» and as the star of the successful Amazon Prime series «LOL: Last One Laughing», she regularly proves why she belongs to the absolute comedy elite.
A trophy cabinet full
Hazel Brugger's sold-out venues are not the only proof of her talent – her trophy cabinet is also full. She has won the Salzburger Stier, the German Comedy Award and the Swiss Comedy Award, among others.
In addition to her stage presence, she is a successful author, presenter and podcaster (including «Hazel Thomas Hörerlebnis» with Thomas Spitzer).
