DEEP PURPLE - MADE IN ITALY
All good things come in threes: following their acclaimed shows in autumn 2024 and December 2025, the world's only all-female Deep Purple tribute band Strange Kind Of Women are coming to Z7 again in 2026. On September 18, the five female musicians will bring the magic of the British hard rock legend to our venue once again, authentically and with unbridled enthusiasm.
Only a few tribute bands actually manage to come close to their role models in terms of show and sound. Strange Kind Of Women deliver outstanding work that is highly praised by fans and critics alike. Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice was able to experience for himself what the rock ladies are capable of. At a concert in Graz, he took the opportunity to rock out together with Strange Kind Of Women. Afterwards he said: "It's really great fun to play with them. They do a great job, have a great sound and simply give their all on stage. I really enjoyed performing with them." The members of the band are all professional musicians who have already celebrated success with various other formations. Band leader and guitarist Eliana Cargnelutti is the great new hope of the Italian blues-rock scene. The Italo-Canadian singer Victoria Moro aka Ronnie Grace fronts the band. She is accompanied by Chiara Cotugno (drums), Margherita Gruden (Hammond, keys) and Paola Zadra (bass). When Deep Purple co-founded the hard rock scene in the 70s with songs like "Highway Star", "Child In Time" and "Smoke On The Water", the five musicians weren't even born yet. But for a few years now, they have been living out their love for this music in passionate stage performances, giving a rousing impression of the work of the iconic rock band, which was founded in London in 1968. SKOW took to the stage at Z7 for the first time in September 2024. Our in-house chroniclers diebuehrers.com reported enthusiastically: "The five power women not only brought the legendary sounds of Deep Purple to the stage, but also the atmosphere of a time when rock was still raw and untamed" and continued: "Strange Kind Of Women delivered a tribute that not only honored the songs of Deep Purple, but also reflected their energy and soul extremely authentically."
