The Boston Youth Orchestra is at the top of their game and Zlatomir Fung played Mahler’s 5th most spectacularly. I so looked forward to this event and came all the way from Paris to enjoy it. I wasn’t disappointed either. Apparently Mahler also conducted his 5th symphony there on October 22, 1905! Impressive connection to know that. The Basel audience has a tradition of appreciating music and I could easily notice that I. Their appreciation and ovation afterwards!
